"Sumgayit" club gave more chances to young players in the match against "Zaqatala" in the second qualifying round of the Azerbaijan Cup. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by the head coach of the "city of youth", Saša Ilić, in a statement to the club's press service.
He stated that they witnessed an interesting match:
"It was a good match. Our main goal was to let the players who get less playing time play. Especially after taking a 2:0 lead in the first half, we tried to keep control of the game and avoid injuries. In the second half, we made changes and created opportunities for other players to stay in shape. Although the score was 3:0, I don't think we won an easy victory. But in any case, we are happy to have qualified for the next stage. We wish "Zaqatala" success in the next games."
It should be noted that "Sumgayit" will face "Difai", a representative of the I League, in the 1/8 finals.
