Azerbaijan's amputee team fought to the end in the League of Nations.
"Report" informs that this was stated by AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev in a statement to journalists.
He spoke about the Azerbaijani team, which took third place in Group C of the League of Nations in amputee football held in Baku:
"In 2023, a cooperation agreement was signed between AFFA and ANAMA. This agreement covered certain issues. One of them was the work to be done regarding the development of amputee football. To date, there has been some support for amputee football. This sport has begun its initial development steps. Our team has participated in several international competitions. The League of Nations was organized in our country for the first time in amputee football. Our team also began to be recognized in the international arena. We took third place in the first such competition in Baku. We were expecting a bigger result, but our team fought to the end."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team lost to Ukraine 1:3 in its last match in the League of Nations and finished the group in third place.
