Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation, is accused of embezzling $600,000 from the organization.
According to "Report", citing "Actu Cameroun", the head of the federation is suspected of laundering "dirty money" through a criminal deal.
It is reported that this amount was intended as a reward for the players for Cameroon's match against Mexico in 2023, but the national team members never received the payments allocated for them.
For this reason, it was emphasized that a complaint was filed against Eto'o with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.
It should be noted that Eto'o, who wore the uniform of prestigious clubs such as "Barcelona" and "Real" (both Spain), "Inter" and "Milan" (both Italy), as well as the Cameroon national team (118 matches, 56 goals), has been the president of his country's football federation since 2021.
In September 2024, due to his aggressive behavior and violation of the principles of fair play, FIFA banned him from participating in matches of the Cameroonian men's and women's national teams for six months.
