Samuel Eto'O, the renowned former striker for many famous clubs and current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, is accused of stealing $600,000 from his organization.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the legendary Cameroonian is suspected of laundering $600,000. This amount was supposed to be paid as a bonus to the players of the Cameroonian national team for a friendly match against Mexico in San Diego (USA) on June 10, 2023.
However, the players never received the promised money.
A complaint has been filed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US Department of Justice regarding Eto'O, who has headed the local football federation since 2021.
The former player of "Real", "Barcelona" and "Inter" has recently been at the center of several scandals.
One of them occurred in September 2024, when FIFA banned Eto'O from attending matches of the Cameroonian men's and women's national teams due to his violent behavior.
During the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he also used force against a fan.
