The Azerbaijani national team consisting of football players under 21 is not losing by a large score for the first time.
This was stated by Samir Aliyev, the former head coach of the Azerbaijani U-21 national team, in his statement to "Report".
The expert commented on the team's big defeat to the Czech Republic in the qualifying round of the European Championship:
"When I was working in the U-21 national team, there were also big defeats. The new head coach Rashad Eyyubov is young and does not have much experience. U-21 will be a new experience in his career. The Czech Republic is one of the strongest opponents for our team. Considering that it was Rashad Eyyubov's first match as head coach, he does not know the players very well. What I mean is that no training camp was held, and they did not test their strength in test matches. It would not be right to criticize in the current situation. The right choice is to support them. There have always been problems. The team is not losing by a large score for the first time."
It should be noted that the Czech Republic - Azerbaijan match ended with a 5:0 victory for the opponent. U-21 will hold its next match against the Scottish national team at home on October 14.
