"Neftchi" did not chase Vincent Abubakar.
"Report" informs that the head coach of "Neftchi" Samir Abasov said this at a press conference after the match of the II qualifying round of the Azerbaijan Cup with the MOIK team.
He commented on the match they won:
"The games of the Azerbaijan Cup have always been difficult for us, but "Neftchi" is a team for which every next match is a priority. Despite the difficulty, we will fight to the end on both fronts. We understand the importance of each game, we also feel the pressure. Therefore, the opponent does not matter".
S.Abasov talked about the arrival of the new transfer Abubakar to the team:
"We couldn't bring Abubakar on time, he was inaccessible to us. Because the Azerbaijan Premier League is not a place where such players aspire to. We didn't just chase Abubakar, that is, we didn't look for a name. We were looking for a striker who could show his level with one touch inside the penalty area. There were enough names at that time. We chose and brought the most ideal one for us. But I am against focusing only on the name. All players play. I also see what other players are doing".
It should be noted that the "Neftchi" - MOIK match ended with a 6:2 victory for the "white-blacks". The team will face "Zira" in the 1/8 finals.
