The legal dispute between "Nantes" and "Cardiff City" regarding the transfer of the late striker Emiliano Sala has ended. The Commercial Court of Nantes has ruled in favor of the French club.
According to İdman.Biz, citing the BBC, "Cardiff City" must pay "Nantes" compensation of 480,000 euros.
Sala was scheduled to move from "Nantes" to "Cardiff" in 2021 for 17 million euros, but tragically died in a plane crash while traveling to Wales to complete the transfer. The Welsh club had previously claimed 122 million euros from "Nantes", arguing that Sala could bring significant benefits to the team and potentially lead them to the Premier League. However, the court rejected these claims and set a lower amount.
Emiliano Sala passed away on January 21, 2019. Throughout his career, he also played for clubs such as "Bordeaux", "Orleans", and "Caen".
