The president of the Turkish club Sakaryaspor, Muhammet Kıratlı, has resigned.
Idman.Biz reports that M.Kıratlı announced his resignation on his social media account.
He announced his decision a few hours after his team lost 0:5 to Gençlerbirliği in the fourth round of the "Ziraat" Turkish Cup at home.
Muhammet Kıratlı stated in his statement that he had to step aside for the future of the club:
"It was a great honor and responsibility for me to serve our club. From the day I took office, I worked with all my strength for the team to be successful. However, in the current situation, the club needs managers who can work energetically and intensively. I am resigning from my position as president to pave the way for Sakaryaspor's success."
