Saibari Apologized to Mendy for Towel Controversy at AFCON

Following the incident at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Moroccan national team midfielder Ismael Saibari resolved the matter on the spot.

Saibari directly met with the goalkeeper and apologized for what happened. During the meeting, the parties shook hands and closed the matter.

It should be noted that the episode with Mendy's towel during AFCON caused widespread discussions on social networks. Thus, during the final, the Senegalese national team's reserve goalkeeper, Yevann Diouf, although he did not appear on the field, gained great sympathy in the country with his behavior.

Against the background of ball boys repeatedly trying to take the towels used for the main goalkeeper Mendy during the match, Diouf was forced to protect those towels on the sidelines for a long time. Towels used to dry goalkeepers' gloves and faces in rainy weather became one of the most controversial details of the final.
