Sport24.az reports with reference to Modern.az that these words were said by People's Artist Sahlab Mammadov, the father of Elkhan Mammadov, the former Secretary General of AFFA, currently working as the Chief Executive Officer of the FIFA Member Associations Division.
In his interview, Mammadov stated that his son was not a person of the football field:
"He loved football himself, but he was not a person of this field. Elkhan had finished management."
The People's Artist said that the national team's unsuccessful performance at that time was not related to Elkhan Mammadov:
