The coaching staff of "Sabah", who lost (2:3) to the Slovenian representative "Sele" in the first match of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, need time to implement their ideas.
This was stated by Igor Ponomaryov, the sports director of the Baku club, in his statement to "Report".
The club official said that the chances have not been lost:
"First of all, I want to thank the fans. Yesterday there was a truly magnificent atmosphere in the stadium. In my opinion, the fans who came to the stadium were able to enjoy football. The only negative thing was that we lost. We must take into account that our head coach Valdas Dambrauskas is still new, and he and the coaching staff need some time to implement their ideas. Most likely, after this game, the coaching staff clarified some issues related to the opponent. Our chance continues. The team must prove in the Slovenian trip that they are better than the opponent and more worthy to qualify for the next stage."
It should be noted that the return match between "Sabah" and "Sele" will be held on July 17 in Slovenia.
