Slovenian club "Sele", the opponent of "Sabah" in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, played in the 1/4 finals of the UEFA Conference League last season.
"Report" informs that the Slovenian representative was founded in 1919.
The team participated in the Yugoslav Second League under the name "Kladivar" in 1964 and played there for only one year. After Slovenia gained independence in 1991, it began to play in the country's main league under the name "Publikum", and in 2007 it was renamed "Sele". The team has never left the elite.
The team has twice (2019/2020, 2023/2024) won the title of national champion (since 1991). It also won the Slovenian Cup in the 2004/2005 and 2024/2025 seasons.
"Sele", headed by former Spanish national team player Albert Riera, who once wore the uniforms of famous clubs such as "Liverpool" and "Galatasaray", played in the 1/4 finals of the UEFA Conference League in the 2024/2025 season. The team lost to the Italian club "Fiorentina" in this stage with the result of two matches (1:2, 2:2) and stopped the fight.
"Sele" reaching this stage in European cups has gone down in history as the greatest achievement among Slovenian teams so far.
"Sabah"'s opponent holds its home games at the "Zdejele" stadium in the city it represents, with a capacity of 13,059 fans. The president of the club is Russian businessman Valeri Kolotilo.
It should be noted that "Sabah" will hold its first match against "Sele" at home on July 10, and the return match will be held away on the 17th.
