Former Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit shared his thoughts on the problems in Italian football.
Idman.Biz reports that he stated that the situation is not related to the large number of foreign players in Serie A.
According to Gullit, foreign players have played in the Italian championship before, and this did not prevent the national team from achieving high results. He believes that the main problem is in the defensive line.
"Italy has always been distinguished by intelligent defenders who can participate in the construction of attacks. There are no longer players like Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. At the same time, there is also a lack of quality attackers," Gullit said.
It should be noted that the former football player played for AC Milan and Sampdoria clubs during his career.
