"We wanted to win. There was desire in the team. Our fans were also amazing. Their support was very pleasant and we felt it on the field." These words were said by Rustam Ahmadzada, a football player of our national team, in his statement to Sport24.az.
The 25-year-old football player shared his thoughts after the DÇ-2026 qualifying match, which they lost at home to Iceland (0:2):
"We were well prepared for the game. We wanted to win at least one point in the game against Iceland. Unfortunately, we were unlucky in some moments, so it didn't work out."
Ahmadzada also touched upon the match against France on November 13:
"The match against France will be our last match in the group. We are playing at home, we have to play for the country, for the fans. We have to show our best against a team like France and try to make the spectators happy."
It should be noted that the match between Azerbaijan and France will be held on November 16 and the meeting will start at 21:00.
