The Naples city authorities are preparing for the certification of the Maradona stadium for the European Football Championship games to be held in Italy in 2032.
Idman.Biz reports that this necessitates bringing the arena into compliance with UEFA standards.
In the coming years, a large-scale reconstruction will be carried out at the stadium, and as part of this process, the athletics running tracks surrounding the main football field will be completely removed.
Additional tiers of stands will be built in their place.
It should be noted that the stadium was built in the 50s of the last century and currently has a capacity of 55 thousand spectators. The arena received its current official name in 2020.
