"During the transfer period, we were constantly talking with my manager. The negotiations lasted almost a month, and in the end, I chose Varajdin."
Idman.biz reports that Rufat Abdullazade said these words in an interview with Sportal.az.
Rufat, whose transfer to Vansspor was on the agenda before leaving for Croatia, also spoke about the progress of the issue: "It is true that we also had negotiations with the Turkish club. But as I said before, in the end, we made a joint decision and my choice was Varajdin. I was not poorly informed about my new team and the Croatian championship in advance. In any case, after the offer came, I watched it more closely and more often. Now my focus is on the team, training, and games. I was greeted very kindly, well, and sincerely in the team. Everyone is helping me. Despite not having a training camp with the team, I want to get into full shape."
Among Rufat's teammates is Mario Marina, who once wore Sabah's uniform. Abdullazade said that they talked with the Croatian football player about Azerbaijani football: "Yes, I knew him, he played in our league. We talked with Marina. We talked about the time he played in Azerbaijan."
It should be noted that Abdullazade, who signed a three-year contract with Croatian club Varajdin in the summer, spent last season at Sabail.
