Rovshan Suleymanov, a graduate of Masalli football, is celebrating his 50th birthday.
The veteran football player gave an interview to Sport24.az.
- First of all, congratulations. Looking back, what are the highlights of your 50 years of life?
- 50 years passed very quickly. Successful days were replaced by unsuccessful ones. But I don't lose heart. Life goes on. We have even bigger things waiting for us in the field of sports.
- How are you celebrating your anniversary?
- Very simple. I'm with my family.
- Have any of your former teammates or members of the football community congratulated you?
- Yes. Almost all the friends we used to play with convey their congratulations.
- How do you remember your football career?
- I remember well the time when I played in the Top League for 13 years. I have lived good days. I still remember: there were days when we bought one token and three people passed through the subway when we played in "Kapaz" and "Qarabag". We also contributed to the survival of "Qarabag" as a team and its arrival to these days. May God help them. I wish success to his team, headed by Gurban muallim. I am happy that I also played in this team.
- Have you ever thought that you did something wrong in your career?
- Yes. Looking back, there were moments when I regretted it. The former president of AFFA, Fuad Musayev, insisted that I play in "Defa". I did not agree and moved to "Qarabag". My second chance is related to Germany. I turned down Stuttgart's offer. This was my big mistake. I regret it.
