The Azerbaijan men's national football team went through difficult trials last year.
According to "Report", AFFA President Rovshan Najaf said this at the Reporting Conference of the National Association.
"Our men's national team went through difficult trials last year. There was positive progress under the leadership of Aykhan Abbasov. I thank him. Discipline in the team's game has increased. The success in the "FIFA Series-2026" tournament is a clear result of this. I congratulate the national team once again. I trust our team. "Qarabagh's" success in the European arena should be especially noted. I thank the club management for the feelings they gave to the fans," said R. Najaf.
The AFFA president also expressed his views on the U-20 World Championship, which will be held in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in 2027:
"This competition will be held on two continents. We can evaluate it as a bridge between Europe and Asia. I believe that we will work together to achieve our goals and our efforts will be positive."
