Years later, Cristiano decided to sell his second "Golden Ball" for charity. He put the prestigious trophy up for auction in London to benefit the British charity Make-A-Wish Foundation, which fulfills the wishes of children battling life-threatening illnesses.
The winner of the auction was Israeli millionaire Idan Ofer, who paid 600,000 euros for the "Golden Ball."
Ofer's net worth is estimated at $25 billion in 2025, and he even posed with the "Golden Ball" along with Ronaldo's then-agent, Jorge Mendes.
