Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo believes that players playing in the Saudi Arabian league should be nominated for the "Golden Boot" award. Sport24.az reports that Ronaldo, who has been playing for the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr since 2023, said that scoring goals in this league is more difficult:
"Why don't they count the goals scored in the Saudi Arabian league? Why? Look at how many great players are in our league, ask other players if the league is good or not. Don't ask me, because I'm always in the spotlight. Some will say, "Cristiano says this because he plays in Saudi Arabia." No, no, listen, I've played everywhere. Everywhere. For me, scoring goals in the Spanish La Liga was easier than in Saudi Arabia."
Real Madrid striker Kilian Mbappe won the "Golden Boot" award last season.
