These are Ronaldo's 40th and 41st goals in World Cup qualifying.
In terms of goals scored in World Cup qualifying, Ronaldo surpassed Guatemalan Carlos Ruiz (39) and is now the top scorer in World Cup qualifying. Lionel Messi is third with 36 goals, Iranian Ali Daei is fourth (35), and Polish Robert Lewandowski is fifth (33).
At the club level, the Portuguese forward plays for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr, and his contract runs until the summer of 2027.
