Transfer rumors regarding the future of Andrew Robertson, the experienced left-back of the English football club Liverpool, have entered a new phase.
Idman.Biz reports, citing "Football Insider," that Tottenham still maintains plans to add the 31-year-old Scottish footballer, whose contract expires in the summer of 2026, to their squad.
The London representative made a five million pound (£11,424,000 AZN) offer for Robertson in January, but Liverpool did not allow this transfer due to injuries in the defense line. However, Robertson's loss of his place in the starting lineup and currently being overshadowed by Milos Kerkez increases the likelihood of him leaving the team in the summer.
Interestingly, Robertson's name is being mentioned not only with Tottenham but also, surprisingly, with Championship representative Wrexham. According to reports, if Wrexham can be promoted to the Premier League, they will make an official request to transfer the star defender. Robertson himself, in his last interview, stated that he is loyal to Liverpool, but emphasized that he would discuss his future with the club's management.
It should be noted that Robertson is one of the rare players who has experienced both the Champions League and Premier League championships with Liverpool. Currently, his market value is estimated at approximately 30 million euros (60 million AZN).
