Portugal national football team's head coach Roberto Martinez answered questions about when team captain Cristiano Ronaldo will end his international career.
Idman.Biz reports that the expert emphasized that the 41-year-old striker is still highly motivated.
He stated that it is pointless to make predictions about Ronaldo's future. He noted that Cristiano focuses on being the best "here and now" instead of making long-term plans:
"His mindset is admirable. He lives every day as if it were his last and always tries to be better. You can never know when the end will come."
The experienced coach also provided information about Ronaldo's current injury. He said that the star football player suffered a soft tissue injury, but that it is not a serious problem:
"Most likely, he will be able to start training with the general group next week."
Martinez added, reminding that Cristiano's role in the team is irreplaceable:
"Cristiano is our captain. He is very important for the team and has a great impact. We won the Nations League together with him. His finishing ability in the penalty area and ending attacks is important for us."
