Robert Navarro, the author of the third goal scored against "Qarabag" as part of "Athletic" within their home walls in the III round of the overall stage of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), shared his impressions about the match.
Idman.biz reports that the 23-year-old football player, in an interview with "Diario AS", stated that he feels happy to have contributed to his team's first victory in the UCL.
"The match was very tense, the tempo of the game was changing. The opponent was playing intensively and leaving empty zones. I asked Aleks Berenger for the ball and struck without thinking. The head coach often instructs me to complete the attacks. After conceding a goal in the first minute, it is not easy to restart the game, but we deserved this victory. We are able to compete in this Champions League and we must show an even stronger game within our home walls", - Navarro emphasized.
The football player added that he had prepared in advance for that shot he scored against "Qarabag", and at the same time, he stated that the opponent is a high-level team:
"I have been working on such shots for two weeks. I also had a chance in Dortmund, but today it worked and I am very happy to be able to help my team. In elite-level football, any opponent puts up a strong fight. Although "Qarabag" does not represent the most famous league, it scored maximum points in matches with "Copenhagen" and "Benfica". We also suffered in the match with "Qarabag", but in the end, we are very happy to have won three points".
It should be reminded that after three rounds, "Qarabag" has six points in its assets and occupies the 13th place in the tournament table. In the fourth round, "Qarabag" will face "Chelsea" in Baku on November 5.
