"Hamburg" has secured its participation in the Bundesliga for the next season ahead of schedule, returning to the top division of German football after seven years.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, they guaranteed their place in the top two and direct promotion by winning 6:1 against outsider "Ulm" in the penultimate game of the second Bundesliga.
With one round remaining, "Hamburg" leads the championship with 59 points, one point ahead of "Cologne" and 4 points ahead of "Elfersberg."
"Krasnoshtanniki" has played continuously in the Bundesliga since its foundation in 1963 and was relegated for the first time in the 2017/18 season. "Hamburg" has won six titles and three German cups. The club is also the winner of the European Champions Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup.
