FIFA President Gianni Infantino has shared details of the ticket sales process for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the US, Canada, and Mexico this summer.
According to Idman.Biz, citing The Touchline, the FIFA President noted that the excitement surrounding the tournament has exceeded all expectations.
"There are 6-7 million tickets on sale, and we have received 150 million applications in just 15 days. That's 10 million applications per day. This shows how powerful the World Cup is," said Infantino.
He also emphasized the scale of interest in historical context.
"In the approximately 100-year history of the World Cup, FIFA has sold only 44 million tickets. So, theoretically, in two weeks we could sell tickets for 300 years of World Cups. Imagine that. It's complete madness," added the FIFA President.
