The Ukrainian national football team did not easily achieve victory over Azerbaijan.
According to "Report", this was stated by the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhiy Rebrov, at a press conference.
The expert shared his thoughts on the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup against the Azerbaijani national team:
"I am happy that we achieved such a result. We took the game very seriously. Both teams wanted to win. But in the end, we won. Five of our main players were not on the field. Victory over Azerbaijan was not easy for us. We tried to play well in the first half. I never consider the Azerbaijani national team weak. The big defeat on the trip to Iceland does not indicate the strength of Azerbaijan. There the team did not play to its strength."
It should be noted that the Ukraine - Azerbaijan match ended with a 2:1 victory for the former.
