Usman Dembele, a member of PSG and the French national team, won the "Ballon d'Or" of the 2024/25 season, founded by "France Football."
Lent.az, citing foreign media, reports that although eight Real players have won the Ballon d'Or, the club has been without a winner for several years.
Let's remember when the Madrid representatives won the coveted cup:
Di Stefano: 1957 and 1959
Kopa: 1958
Figo: 2000
Ronaldo: 2002
Cannavaro: 2006
Cristiano Ronaldo: 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017
Modric: 2018
Benzema: 2022
The first Real player to win the cup was Di Stefano: after finishing second in his first attempt (1956, when Stanley Matthews won), he took second place (1957). Then Kopa (1958), then Di Stefano again (1959). And immediately after that... silence.
Real went 41 years without a win. Puskas was second in 1960, Amancio was third in 1964... Butragueño in 1986 and 1987, Mijatović in 1997, and Šuker in 1998 won silver medals. The nightmare of the club's fans ended in 2000 when Figo won.
Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or two years later, and Cannavaro won it in 2006 as world champion with Italy. And then the real monster arrived: Cristiano Ronaldo with four cups (five if you include the cup he won with Manchester United in 2008).
Cristiano's baton was taken by Modric in 2018, who almost made Croatia world champion, and Benzema in 2022. Real has not won the Ballon d'Or since then. Vinicius could have won the cup in 2024, but for various reasons this did not happen.
