The press service of "Real Madrid" has released a statement on its official website regarding the condition of defender Raul Asensio, who was injured in the UEFA Champions League play-off match against Benfica (2:1).
Idman.Biz reports that Asensio collided with teammate Eduardo Camavinga in the 77th minute of the match.
"After a medical examination, our player Raul Asensio was diagnosed with a neck sprain. His recovery process will be monitored," Real Madrid said in a statement.
The incident occurred during an aerial challenge in the opponent's half. The Spanish player was unable to get up on his own and left the field on a stretcher.
