It was previously reported that "Barcelona" had withdrawn from the Super League project, and the club announced this on its official website. Thus, "Real Madrid" remains the only participant in the project.
The announcement of the new European football tournament was made in 2021. "Barcelona" was one of the 12 founding members of the Super League. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) criticized the project, stating that all participating clubs would be excluded from other local, European and international competitions.
