Real Madrid has made a significant change to their plans to strengthen their defense. The Spanish giant has dropped their interest in Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate, whom they had been monitoring for some time.
Idman.Biz reports, citing "AS", that the Madrid club's management was not satisfied with the performance of the French footballer, whose contract expires at the end of the season. The "Royal Club", which removed Konate, who was transferred from Leipzig in 2021 for £36 million (82 million AZN), from their list, has turned its attention to Borussia Dortmund member Nico Schlotterbeck. The German defender is currently Real's number one target for the summer transfer window.
Another candidate for the defense is Tottenham star Micky van de Ven. According to "Sports Boom", the 24-year-old Dutch footballer has suspended new contract negotiations with the London club. It is reported that while Tottenham is fighting to stay in the Premier League, the player's mind is confused due to interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. It should be noted that Tottenham is demanding £100 million (228 million AZN) for this transfer.
Real Madrid's scout Juni Calafat, who also wants to strengthen the midfield, has recommended Crystal Palace's young talent Adam Wharton to the management. Kalafat believes that the 22-year-old English footballer will be a more strategic transfer compared to Rodri or Alexis Mac Allister. PSG midfielder Vitinha is also on the list.
