"Real Madrid" intends to demand "multi-million euro" compensation from "Barcelona" in connection with the case of Jose Maria Negreira, former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA).
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to AS.
According to the source, "Real Madrid" believes that the cooperation between "blaugrana" and Negreira could harm them. "Real Madrid" may file a corresponding claim against "Barcelona".
Let us remind you that in 2023, "blaugrana" was accused of bribing Negreira, who worked at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), through payments. "Barcelona" is accused of making the above-mentioned payments of approximately 8.4 million euros between 2001 and 2018.
According to the Catalan club, Negreira was hired as an external consultant to prepare technical reports on refereeing. The former CTA vice-president denies receiving bribes to influence referees.
