As reported, "Real Madrid" and "Manchester City" will play in the 1/8 final stage of the Champions League in the 2025/26 season.
According to Opta Joe's X social media account, this is the fifth consecutive time the teams have met in the play-off stage of European competitions, which is a record.
It should be noted that in 2022, "Los Blancos" won the semi-finals of the Champions League (3:4, 3:1). The following year, the Premier League club won at the same stage (1:1, 4:0). In 2024, the Spanish club reached the quarter-finals (3:3, 1:1, 4:3 on penalties), and in 2025, "Real Madrid" won the play-offs (3:2, 3:1).
It should be reminded that the matches of the current Champions League 1/8 final stage will be held on March 10-11 (first matches) and March 17-18 (return matches). The final will be held at the "Puskas Arena" in Budapest. The final match of the competition will be held on May 30, 2026.
