"I had a conversation with the head coach and asked him to let me move to a club where I could get more playing time. Thankfully, he understood my decision. I thank Sasha Ilic. He was both a good person and a good coach for me."
Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by Rauf Rustamli, who parted ways with "Sumgayit", in his statement to futbolinfo.az.
The 22-year-old midfielder also evaluated his performance in "Sumgayit":
"In every game I played for this team, I tried to show myself in the best light. Even though I didn't get much playing time, I did my best."
Rustamli also spoke about his move to "Karvan-Yevlakh":
"My transfer was resolved within 2-3 days. Head coach Fuzuli Mammadov called and said he wanted to see me in the team. The negotiations and the requirements were acceptable to me. So, we came to an agreement. One of my main goals is to be a member of the starting lineup in every game. I have to work hard for this. The team is currently at the bottom of the league table. We want to get out of this situation and move up to higher places. God willing, we will achieve this."
The midfielder also spoke about his future plans:
"My contract expires at the end of the season and I have to return to "Sabah". But right now, all my attention is focused on training and games with "Karvan-Yevlakh". After the season ends, I will think more clearly about my future plans. In general, my main goal is to get more playing time at the club I play for, to be a member of the main squad, and to receive an invitation to the national team."
