"We finished second in the championship for the last two seasons. One of our main goals is to qualify for the Eurocups." Sport24.az reports that these words were said by Rashad Sadygov, the head coach of "Zira," in his statement to "TRT Spor."
The expert spoke about Zira's performance:
"This year, our opponents are also very strong. It was clear from the beginning of the season that it would be difficult. We feel it in every match. We are currently in the top 3. The team in fourth place has played one game less. But what is important is to finish the season where we want in May. We were very close to reaching the main stage of the UEFA Conference League. We lost in the play-offs. One of my main goals is to ensure that our club and national team participate in major tournaments someday."
Sadygov also touched upon "Qarabağ"'s successful performance in European cups:
"Qarabağ" makes us proud with its results. All Turkic states are proud. We are following closely. We are very happy. The main stage matches of the UEFA Champions League are held in Baku. The team has chances for the next stage. They are fighting for it. This was once a dream for us. In Azerbaijan, the state pays great attention to sports. We are happy that we have also achieved success in football in recent years."
He said that he also wants to work as a head coach in the Turkish Super League: "If destiny allows, I would like to work in this championship."
