It was difficult for "Zira" to fight in the minority on the field against "Hayduk".
"Report" informs that the head coach of "Zira", Rashad Sadiqov, said this at a press conference after the return match against "Hayduk" (Croatia) in the II qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
He emphasized that his team performed with determination:
"I thank my players for their determined game. They showed a fighting game today. Although we were playing against a strong opponent on the road. But we started to put pressure on them. It worked very well for us at the beginning of the match. Unfortunately, our player received a red card at the most important minutes. Despite this, our attacks continued and we equalized the score by scoring a goal. It was very difficult to play with 10 players in the extra part of the match. Then the player of the opposing team scored a very beautiful goal from a free kick. We didn't want to give up the game, we tried to equalize the score. Unfortunately, we didn't succeed."
It should be noted that the first match between "Zira" and "Hayduk" at the 8th kilometer stadium ended in a draw - 1:1. In the return match between the teams at the "Polyud Stadium", the home team won with a score of 2:1.
