Rashad Sadigov, the head coach of "Zira", which advanced to the final after drawing goalless with "Turan Tovuz" in the return match of the Azerbaijan Cup semi-final stage, answered journalists' questions at the press conference after the match.
Idman.Biz reports that Sadigov also touched upon the controversial episodes and refereeing issues that occurred in the first game. Although he admitted that some criticisms were justified, he stated that different interpretations of the same type of episodes create confusion.
Rashad Sadigov emphasized that both teams deserved to be in the final, but "Zira" reached its goal as the luckier side.
Regarding the harsh statements of the "Turan Tovuz" management after the first match, Sadigov said that these statements disappointed him. He said that although he normally accepts criticism for refereeing errors, some expressions were too emotional.
The coach also commented on the slogans chanted against him by Tovuz fans. Reminding that he started his career at this club, Sadigov noted that he considers Tovuz his home and that the fans were misinformed. He added that he has never disrespected his former club and only went to the stadium to enjoy football.
Speaking about his opponent in the final, Rashad Sadigov said that neither "Qarabag" nor "Sabah" are easy opponents. He emphasized that "Qarabag" has great final experience, while "Sabah" looks very ambitious this season.
