No opponent wants the victory more than the Azerbaijan national team made up of football players under the age of 21.
"Report" informs that the head coach of the team, Rashad Eyyubov, made a statement about this.
The 33-year-old specialist shared his thoughts before the match of the qualifying round of the European Championship against the Portuguese national team.
"Football players must be mentally prepared for victories. No opponent can want the victory more than us. It doesn't matter whether we are playing against Portugal or another team. Our main goal is to prepare our players for the A national team. The important thing is that the players get positive experience and when they take the next step, they are mentally ready for victories."
R.Eyyubov also said that they face difficulties:
"There are certain points that are difficult for us. Some of our players play in the Reserve League, while others play in the First League and the Premier League. How can we find a balance physically so that everyone is in the same condition? This is the biggest challenge. Physically, we are fully ready for this game. The second issue is a tactical issue. We tried to convey as much information as possible to the players about this in a short period of time. Only the mental issue remains. It also depends on the players themselves. I always tell the players to believe in themselves and set their goals to the maximum. It is necessary to show this not only in words, but also in deeds on the field."
It should be noted that in Group B of the qualifying round of the U-21 European Championship, on March 27, they will host the Portuguese national team at the 8th km settlement stadium.
