"For me, the unforgettable game in "Neftchi" is the match against "Pyunik" in Moscow." This was stated to Sport24.az by Ramin Musayev, former president of the Professional Football League (PFL) and former vice-president of "Neftchi".
Musayev shared his memories about "Neftchi", which turned 89 years old today:
"Neftchi" is the history of Azerbaijani football. True, now the flagship is stumbling a bit, but probably in the coming years, the "black and whites" will be at the top again. Next year is the 90th anniversary. Although it seems difficult for the team to present a championship to the fans, it is a mission that can be accomplished. Those working at the club should work for quality, not for advertising. We worked at "Neftchi" in the 2004-2008 season. Our workforce was only 6-7 people. This includes the press secretary. Today, the number of people working in the club is more than 40. Those working at the club must love the team, I hope they also love "Neftchi". Those who work only for salary and money can never benefit the team."
It should be noted that Ramin Musayev worked as the vice-president of "Neftchi" in 2004 - 2008. Later, he was the president of PFL until 2022.
