The new president of "Shahdag Gusar", Rahid Amirguliyev, is ready to do everything possible to ensure the club continues its activities.
The new head of the I League representative stated this in an interview with "Report".
He spoke about his appointment as president of the Gusar club:
"We wanted football to live in Gusar. The sponsor who has been supporting "Shahdag Gusar" for many years has ended the partnership. I thank them for their support in previous years. As everyone knows, the team faced serious financial problems in the summer. I thought I should take over this team. I thank the Football Development Fund for supporting us in this matter. Football must live in Gusar. I don't want the champion of the II League to stop its activities. As both a football player and a club president, I am ready to do my best."
The 35-year-old midfielder spoke about his team's goals in the I League in the new season:
"Unfortunately, our goal will not be to win the championship. With the budget allocated by AFFA, we will try to maintain the team's place in the I League. The majority of the squad is made up of young people. Only 4 players from last year's squad remained with us. Elnur Abdullayev will perform the functions of head coach as he did last year."
It should be noted that "Shahdag Gusar" was the winner of the Azerbaijan II League last season.
