Rahid Amirguliyev: The red card and the conceded goal negatively affected the team

"Our matches are very tough because the opponent is playing for the championship. The fact that they haven't lost this season proves it." These words were said to Sport24.az by Rahid Amirguliyev, the president and captain of the First League representative "Shahdag Gusar", while commenting on the meeting with "Shafa".

He stated that they went to the field to win, but emphasized that they could not achieve their desire:

"We wanted to be the first team to defeat "Shafa" this season. Unfortunately, we couldn't do it. The opponent's red card was a big advantage for us. We conceded a goal at the end of the first half due to our own mistake. This negatively affected the team. We had 45 minutes to equalize. A team with 10 players defends more. In this case, it is difficult to break the defense. We had opportunities, but we couldn't take advantage of them."

Amirguliyev said that the beginning of the season was not successful for them:

"We thought to gather a team of young football players and strengthen our position in the First League. After January, the team's performance changed for the better. In my opinion, 5th place in the tournament table is a successful result. However, we do not want to be satisfied with this. We go to every game to win."

It should be noted that the match between "Shafa" and "Shahdag Gusar" ended with a minimal victory for the home team - 1:0.
