Head coach of "Kayrat" Rafael Urazbaxtin commented on his team's first-ever qualification for the main stage of the UEFA Champions League. Sport24.az reports that the champion of Kazakhstan won the penalty shootout 3:2 after a 0:0 draw in the return match against Scotland's "Celtic" (first match - 0:0).
Sports24.kz presented Urazbaxtin's words as follows: "Our task was to become champions, win the cup and get into the main stage of the Champions League. We have completed one task. Maybe we didn't think about the main stage. We thought that in the worst case we would play in the Conference League. But now I tell the guys: we did a great job. We will see what our goal will be, I don't like to make predictions, I like to move forward calmly and gradually. It's even hard to believe that we got there".
It should be noted that before that, "Kayrat" had played in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season at best, and then lost to "Karabakh" in both matches - 1:2, 1:2.
