The "Liverpool" - "Bournemouth" (4:2) match, held in the 1st round of the English championship, was stopped for a few minutes in the first half due to a racial scandal.
Lent.az reports that in the 28th minute, a fan in a wheelchair racially insulted Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo, and the game was temporarily stopped due to this. After the incident, Semenyo scored a double and equalized the score.
The Premier League said in a statement that the incident will be fully investigated:
"We express our full support to the player and both clubs. There is no place for racism in our game or in society. We will continue to work with stakeholders and authorities to ensure that our stadiums are inclusive and welcoming environments for everyone."
