Qurban Qurbanov's press conference after the "Qarabağ" - "Sabah" match: Let the fans enjoy, it's okay even if we lose

In the first leg of the semi-final stage of the national cup, "Qarabağ" agreed to a "draw" in the match with "Sabah". Sport24.az presents a report from Qurban Qurbanov's press conference.

- I thank the fans. There was a very wonderful atmosphere. The players played worthy of the fans. It was a dynamic game. It was a real cup game. We must prepare for the return match.

- Did you feel worried when the appointment of the chief referee was announced?

- Not at all.

- Even after the game?

- I guess they appointed him because he referees good games.

- It is said that Kashchuk will be transferred to "Sabah". Can't he get a chance?

- There is no talk of "Sabah". He is given enough chances.

- Can "Qarabağ" sacrifice the championship for the cup, or the cup for the championship? Surely there is at least one title as a target.

- We don't have such a thought. As long as the fans enjoy it, it's okay even if we lose. It will happen, it will happen, it won't happen, it won't happen.

- What was the main shortcoming that prevented you from winning?

- We had a good team in front of us. It's a team that endures to the end. Perhaps their desire is higher than ours. We were tired until December. Motivation was high in the last two games with "Sabah". It is a complementary team. The reason is the opponent in front of us.

- There were a lot of fans. Does that mean they come to an interesting game?

- If these fans come, any game will be good. The players will be more responsible.

- Did you feel like you were in a European Cup game?

- There was such an atmosphere. Perhaps there were more fans than in the qualifying stages.

- Did you reconcile Elvin and Zedadka after the game?

- I hadn't seen the episode. It was footballer's aggressiveness. Controversy adorns football. Football is a game of character. Zedadka got angry. I acted like a reconciler, I don't know.

- Were you talking about the argument with Dambrauskas in the last game?

- No, we didn't talk about the last game. What happened stayed there. We have always talked to Dambrauskas about football. I valued his work and he valued ours. It was a gentlemanly conversation.

- How do you evaluate the work of AFFA in the last two years as a veteran footballer?

- Normal. When there is a new idea, you have to wait. If there is new thinking, a new brain, it can only be interesting.
