Former Dutch international Quincy Promes remains at the center of a major legal battle and now faces the prospect of a lengthy prison sentence.
According to Lent.az, "The Guardian" writes that Promes has been detained in Dubai and may be extradited to the Netherlands, where he faces up to 7.5 years in prison.
The former striker was found guilty of drug smuggling and involvement in a violent incident.
During his career, Promes played for Go Ahead Eagles, Twente, Ajax and Sevilla, leaving a significant mark on football history.
