An interview with Qabil Alizadeh, a football player of the "Mingachevir" club, for Sport24.az
- The team will face "Shafa", which claims the championship, in the next round. What are your expectations from the match?
- It will be a very difficult match. We showed our "teeth" in the last game against them. If we drew away, this time we are only focused on winning at home.
- If you win, you will take an important step towards the Premier League. Because "Baku Sporting" will play with "Sabail" this round.
- Victory in this match is as necessary to us as air and water. Thanks to the victory, the psychological state of the team will be even better. Our main goal is the championship. But if we can't achieve that, we will do our best to take second place. At the very least, we intend to finish the season in second place and play in the play-offs.
- How do you see "Mingachevir"'s chances of taking at least second place in the First League?
- I think that our chances are higher compared to "Baku Sporting" and "Sabail". The teams are very close to each other in the tournament table. It's as if one is waiting for the other's mistake. I think this fight will continue until the last round. All questions will be clarified in the last round.
- Do you think your team could have achieved better results this season?
- Yes. We faced a lot of point losses this season. We lost points in matches against "Zagatala", "Difai" and "Shahdag Gusar". In fact, development is felt in the First League this season. Anything can happen in the championship at any moment. The team in the last place also takes points from the leading team.
- What can you say about your career? Will you stay in the team if Mingachevir fails to qualify for the Premier League?
- I haven't planned anything specific about that yet. I intend to play in the Premier League next season. It would be great if we could do it with "Mingachevir".
