Benfica forward Gianluca Prestianni has testified to UEFA regarding the incident with Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior in the first leg of their Champions League play-off match (0-1).
İdman.Biz reports this with reference to ESPN.
The 20-year-old Argentinian footballer denied using racist insults against the Real Madrid winger. He claims he used an insult that sounds very similar to the word for "monkey" in Spanish.
The match was stopped in the second half after Vinicius accused Prestianni of calling him a "monkey". The Argentinian footballer covered his mouth with his shirt at the time.
UEFA has appointed a special ethics and disciplinary inspector to investigate the incident.
