Benfica midfielder Gianluca Prestianni could face a 10-match ban if a UEFA ethics and disciplinary inspector finds evidence of racism in the Champions League play-off match against Real Madrid (0:1).
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to the BBC.
The Argentine footballer is accused of using racist language against Los Blancos forward Vinicius Junior.
This mandatory punishment was introduced in 2013 by current FIFA President Gianni Infantino during his time as UEFA General Secretary.
The punishment was previously applied in 2021 after the Europa League match between Slavia Prague and Rangers. Czech club central defender Ondrej Kudela was found guilty of racially abusing opponent Glen Kamara.
