Portugal U-21 head coach Luis Freyre shared his thoughts on the match against Azerbaijan in Barcelos in the opening stage of Group D of the EURO-2027 qualifying round.

"Azerbaijan usually plays with a 5-4-1 scheme. They have three central defenders and three fast players in attack.
This team doesn't always strive to press. They know how to play strong in defense. We will have to play more intensely.
We have to move the ball quickly and be patient, find zones for attacks. We have to take the ball back quickly and increase the pace of the game. We are capable of this. We are only thinking about winning and thinking about building the team of the future."
The Portugal-Azerbaijan match will be held today and the game will start at 22:30 Baku time.
