Aliyar Aghayev was the main referee of the first leg of the UEFA Conference League play-off stage between "Polissya" (Ukraine) and "Fiorentina" (Italy). Sport24.az reports that the match ended with a 3:0 victory for the Florence team.
Aliyar Aghayev showed a red card in this match to the guests' forward, Moise Kean, for hitting his opponent. Fiorentina's head coach, Stefano Pioli, commented on that episode. The Italian specialist stated that the red card shown by Aghayev to his player was justified:
"Moise made a mistake, and his action deserved a red card. However, the opponent should also have been punished for pulling his hair. Kean made an unnecessary move. He will learn from this. We have another important match ahead of us."
